Philosophy, Christianity, Religion and Theology
I find theology, particularly modern scientists who also are ‘spiritual’ a great source of both inspiration and insight. Theology, in a sense, is an artistic analysis of the universe vs. a scientific one. For example, a biologist would analyze the chemical nature and perhaps record all flora and fauna in a particular area, while an artist might paint a picture that captured the essential beauty of that site. Both are necessary, both are relevant ways of looking at the world
- Faraday Institute Scholarly research and publication on science and religion, including the organisation of invited groups of experts to write joint publications.
- Questions of Truth The official site of the book by Beale and Polkinhorne that answers 51 common questions about science and religion
- Holy Trinity Brompton Large, active church in London -lots of media (video, mp3, podcasts) with practical information on making religion a ‘useful’ part of your life
- Socrates In the City “The Greek philosopher Socrates famously said that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” … so reads their site.. If you’re even in NYC, or occasionally, Chicago, SOC’s lectures are definitely worth attending.
